CITY OF REPUBLIC MAY 15, 2008 SPECIAL MEETING

Those present: Mayor Pro Tempore Alex Wirt. Council Members: Linda Hall, Dave Michel, and Jim Burnside.

Employee present: Margo Sattler and Casey Giddings and Tony Hall City Building Inspector.

Mayor Pro Tempore Wirt called the Special Meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. with the pledge of allegiance. Mayor Pro Tempore Wirt explained that the purpose of this special meeting was to discuss the property located at 845 S. Portland Street.

Guests: City Wayne Walker.

Wayne Walker, owner of the property located at 845 S. Portland St. discussed with Council the new cell tower site. Mr. Walker discussed the location of both the tower and the metal unit. Mr. Walker also discussed that there will be a fence with privacy slats put in and informed the Council that these plans are all on the site plans attached to the building permit from City Hall. Council asked Mr. Walker about trees that had been taken down, which some appeared to have been on City property. Mr. Walker explained that according to the maps he had and his property description he had that he was not aware that the trees were on City property. Discussion followed. Council discussed with Mr. Walker that they would like some vegetation replanted in the area of the trees, as Casey Giddings stated that the City didn’t want any liability of tall trees there in case of fire or other hazards. Mr. Walker agreed and will draft a drawing of where plants, vegetation could be planted, Mr. Walker stated when the project is finished the property will look nicer than it has in the past.

Linda Hall moved to adjourn the meeting. Jim Burnside seconded; motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 2:30 p.m.
